In 2001 a partnership (XL
Resonance) was formed between Robarts Research Institute,
its engineers and scientists
to commercialize MRI technology.
In 2003 the partnership was replaced by XLR Imaging Inc.

In
2004 XLR Resonance relocated to the London Biotechnology
Commercialization Centre (recently renamed Stiller Centre).
XLR retains its own development and manufacturing facilities, as well as a co-development agreement with Robarts which gives it access to 3T and 7T MRI facilities.
